Lessons in Growth, Patience, and Building a Dream...
The darkest hour is just before the dawn.
Yesterday marked the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year.
Four years ago, I stood on a jetty overlooking Gibraltar and the Atlas Mountains, marvelling at the stars and feeling immense gratitude for the leap we’d made—leaving a high-stress career to build a life of freedom in Southern Spain.
That first winter was anything but bleak. But it wasn’t without its challenges.
It took time to adapt, to find my footing as a self-employed entrepreneur.
And there were moments when it felt overwhelming—learning the ins and outs of an online business, trying to build an audience, and figuring out what worked (and what didn’t).
I’ll admit, there were times when I questioned if it was all worth it.
But something Andy said stuck with me:
“𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙬𝙣.”
It reminded me that growth takes time.
• Trust takes time
• Success takes resilience
• And the journey isn’t always smooth, but it’s worth it
Fast forward to today, and I now help coaches and business owners build businesses they don’t need a holiday from.
The lessons I learned on that jetty still apply:
• Building trust with your audience doesn’t happen overnight.
• Systems and tools like Kajabi will make things easier, but they need a strategy behind them.
• Most importantly, your resilience and focus on your dream will get you through the toughest nights.
So if you’re standing at the edge of your own “winter solstice,” wondering when the light will come, I want you to know this: It will.
And when it does, chase your dream with everything you’ve got.
Because I promise, it’s worth it.
Let’s build something amazing together in 2025.
Jules 😘
